January 2011 -- Beginning next week, the Michigan Shakespeare Festival will be presenting its ShortShakes Tour in high schools around the state.

But we think students shouldn’t have all the fun. A special public performance of The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Hall, 215 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson.

Tickets are $10 at the door (no presale available). Additional donations will also be accepted to support The Official Shakespeare Festival of Michigan.

Our 90-minute live production of Romeo & Juliet is adapted (trimmed from the First Folio) and directed by MSF Artistic Director Janice L. Blixt and features a cast of 10 talented and versatile professional actors.

There will be a Question & Answer session with the actors afterwards (an activity that will be done at all of our touring stops as well).

So please come, enjoy some Shakespeare, and support the Michigan Shakespeare Festival and their 2011 touring cast!
